The newly opened Shenzhen Metro Line 16, which lies in north-eastern Shenzhen, is 29.2 kilometers long. It runs from Longgang District to Pingshan District, serving as an important route to vitalize the less developed eastern part of the city. According to the operator, Shenzhen Metro Group, the line adopts the highest-level technology for unmanned trains-GOA4 and it's equipped with China's finest intelligent operation system centered on traffic control, which can significantly speed up train dispatching efficiency.

Challenge:

Developing a reliable backup power solution to protect various metro applications of Line 16 is challenging. One of the challenges is the dusty operation environment; another challenge is the complex requirements of different loads. Communication systems, signal systems and integrated monitoring systems, etc., require UPSs of different capacities and specifications. In addition, these loads are scattered in different locations, bringing pressure to the daily management and maintenance work of backup power equipment.
